The development of medically acceptable outcome research is critical to the mission of the TFC. Publication of data documenting the efficacy of the method is both necessary for acceptance of the method and for the generation of support for reimbursement from the insurance community. We have begun a study looking at the results of Sheryl Field's Feldenkrais intervention with infants and children with cerebral palsy (CP).

Our long-term goals are:

1) to embark on a broader clinical study that includes additional Feldenkrais practitioners;

2) to participate in multi-center, multi-modality studies seeking to evaluate and expand current treatments for CP; and

3) to train a broader spectrum of health care providers to improve interventions for children with CP as well as other neuromuscular disorders.
